| Description | ||||
| The International Flower Exhibition Anmyeondo-2002 will be held on Anmyeon Island, Taean-gun, South Chungcheong Province from April 26 to May 19, 2002.
In this first Korean floral festival to be held under the recognition of the AIPH (International Association of Horticultural Producers), more than 200 organizations from over 30 nations worldwide will participate and introduce some 1,300 species of beautiful flowers and trees including new strains as well as a variety of garden plants. The International Flower Exhibition Anmyeondo-2002, organized under the theme of 'Flowers and a New Civilization,' will present a valuable opportunity to witness global trends in the floral industry, exchange new information and technology and promote the development of the domestic horticultural industry through consultations and trade, etc. Anmyeon Island, a coastal national park, is a tourist attraction famed for its azure blue sea, delicate sands, magnificent pine trees, fresh marine products and the magnificence of the fiery setting sun. Such breathtaking scenery combined with beautiful flowers will lead to the rebirth of Ammyeon Island as the arena for experiencing the floral culture of Korea and the world. Wishes for the successful staging of the Anmyeondo International Flower Exhibition as well as hopes for the expansion of the appreciation of the floral culture are expressed in this stamp. |
