| The PHILAKOREA 2002 World Stamp Exhibition will be held during ten days from Aug. 2 to Aug. 11, 2002 at Seoul's COEX Complex (Pacific Hall and Indian Hall).
A wide variety of events are planned for the exhibition including displays and performances as well as interactive events in which visitors will be invited to participate. Programs planned for the exhibition include the PhilaKorea 2002 Day, Mask Day, Dealer Day, Korea Post Day, Philatelist Day, Youth Philatelist Day, Love Day, International Friendship Day, Participation & Progress Day and Family Day. In addition to opening their own publicity halls, local governments have organized performances to be staged every day including Yangjubyeol Sandaenori, Songpa Sandaenori, Taekgyeon, Andong Hahoebyeol Exorcism, Dongnaeyaryu & Dongnaehakchum Dance, Gangryeong Mask Dance as well as performances by the Chungnam Provincial Korean Traditional Music Band, Jeonnam Provincial Korean Traditional Music Band, and Jeonbuk Provincial Korean Traditional Music Band. Other programs include face painting & airbrush, making gigantic three-dimensional stamps, making mosaic picture stamps, magic shows and character shows. The design of the commemorative stamp for PHILAKOREA2002 World Stamp Exhibition depicts the symbols for PHILAKOREA and talchum, the mask dance. The margin of the stamp is printed with color codes with the stamp being issued without perforation. |
