Korean National Dishes

3 won stamp:Glutinous rice-cake The glutinous rice-cake is made of the glutinous rice or glutinous rice flour, which are steamed and pounded on a board. It is a special dish that the Korean people would take it as a holiday dish from long ago. 30 won stamp:Tongkimchi Tongkimchi, a very favoured dish among the Korean people from oldentimes, is prepared from cabbage, radish, dan other vegetables and wild edible herbs mixed with garlic, green onion, red pepper and other seasonings and pickled fishes. It is so good in taste and health that it is spread worldwide. 70 won stamp:Sinsollo It is a highly nutritious dish made of meat, fish, vegetable, edible herbs and fruit separately processed into roasted food, Jon(fried food), Hoe(sliced and seasonned raw fish or meat), Wyanja(fried meatball) and then cooked in a brass(cook-pot).
120 won souvenir sheet:Pyongyang raengmyon(cold noodle) It is especially popular for its flavor, good look at nice make-up, a representative assortment of Korean noodles. From olden times Pyongyang raengmyon is known as a macrobiotic foodstuff because its main raw material is buckwheat. Today, Okryu Restaurant(on the background of the souvenir sheet) and other restaurants in Pyongyang serve it to enhance the pleasure of the table.
