| Description | ||||
| This final packet of postage stamps in the "Train Series" introduces track repair equipment which are used to inspect, replenish, and repair railroad infrastructures to ascertain the status of tracks and ensure that railroads are in tiptop shape at all times to facilitate safety and operational efficiency. These postage stamps illustrate the Multiple Tie Tamper, Ballast Regulator, Track Inspection Car, and Ballast Cleaner.
Ballast Cleaner. Ride comfort of trains declines when soil and sand account for 25% or more of the support components below railway lines. Running slowly on the tracks, the Ballast Cleaner eliminates soil, sand and other alien substances covering the ballasts to provide pure ballasts to the roadbed. |
