Description
The fifth series on Korean orchids introduces Epipactis thunbergii A. Gray, Cymbidium goeringii Reichb. fil, Cephalanthera erecta (Thunb.) BL., and Spiranthes sinensis (Pers.) Ames. This series will be issued as aromatic stamps carrying the scent of orchids.

Epipactis thunbergii A. Gray
A 30-50 cm tall perennial inhabiting damp areas. Its flowers bloom in brown color in June and July. One stem bears many flowers in the order of from bottom to top, which are scattered along the length of the stem. The inside of the lip-shaped petals has a purple semi-circular mark, and its fruits mature in September. It is called the chickenís orchid, as the color of the flower is compared to the color of a native chickenís feathers. The orchid inhabits regions in Gyeonggi-do and further south.
