Description
Comprising the second installment of the Korean Film Series (2nd), four representative movies produced after Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule until the 1960s are introduced.

The Seashore Village (Gaenmaeul)
This movie describes the lives of women whose husbands have perished on the seas while fishing. This movie is based on the original work of Oh Young-Soo's novel with the same title "Gaenmaeul." The movie is credited for taking Korean movies to a higher aesthetic level through its beautiful imagery that delicately captures the beauty of the natural setting. Produced by director Kim Soo-Yong in 1965, the movie featured actors Ko Eun-Ah, Shin Young-Kyun, Lee Min-Ja, etc. It was produced by Daeyang Film Co. Ltd.
