The SCOTT Stamp Catalogue attempts to list and assign stamp numbers in chronological order for commemorative stamps; except that, it tends to group "Series of stamps" at the first year of issue. It also, periodically lists "definitive stamps" and any respective "Coil stamps", by a group of stamp numbers (SCOTT calls them, "Blocks of numbers") inserted about every five-years of issue.

Souviner Sheets, are normally assigned a minor-suffix of "a", to the stamp number assigned.

The 2009 SCOTT Catalogue stops listing South Korean stamps after the Caring Neighborhood /Donation Culture Special issue of Dec. 14, 2006, (SCOTT calls it: Sharing & Caring Issue), Scott# 2239 & 2238, were assigned. The 2008 SCOTT Catalogue stops listing South Korean stamps after the Celebrated Mountains of Korea Series (3rd Issue), issued Nov. 16, 2006. Scott# 2236a-d, was assigned.

You read the above paragraph correctly if you figured-out that THERE WERE NO 2007, or 2008 STAMP ISSUES CATALOGUED IN THE 2009-SCOTT CATALOGUE, Vol. 4.

The 2009 SCOTT Catalogue stops listing North Korean stamps after the Sheetlet of 4, Dec. 15, 2005, honoring Hu Jintao's visit to the DPRK, from China; #4473.

The 2009 SCOTT Catalogue published the following Scott# changes, on page 1574,
for DPRK. There were no changes for Korea or South Korea.
