It is the third Olympic Games to be held in Canada, under the slogan of "With Glowing Hears," after the 1976 Montreal Olympic Summer Games and the 1988 Calgary Olympic Winter Games.

The Vancouver Olympic Winter Games will see athletes showcase their styles and skills in various winter sports for a total of 86 gold medals in 15 events such as figure skating, bob sleigh, short track speed skating, snow board, ski jump, ice hockey, etc.
