Description
In May 2012, Yeosu, one of the most beautiful port cities in Korea will bask at the center of the world's attention. Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea, the first World Expo to feature the sea in an aquatic Expo space, will unfold for 93 days from May 12 to August 12 under the theme of "The Living Ocean and Coast."

The first World Expo was held in 1851 in England where the steam locomotive was first introduced to the public of the time. Since then, the World Expo has introduced the generation of the advancements in technology and industrial achievements such as telephones and commercial automobiles, thus contributing to the advancement of mankind's economy, science and technology and evolving into a feast where the people of the world can glimpse the new gleaming image of the future.

The second in its kind to be held in Korea, following the 1993 Daejeon Expo, the Yeosu Expo will be participated by a total of 105 countries and 10 international bodies to seek solutions to the body of common human knowledge related with the sea and coast such as destruction of the oceans and seas, climate change and natural disasters, as well as development of new alternative resources.

In addition, this Expo will provide visitors with the opportunities to interact with the displays in its various spaces: the "Theme Pavilion," the world's first exhibition pavilion created on the sea; the "International Pavilion" participated by 105 countries around the world; the biggest aquarium in Korea; the "Sky Tower," a cultural space created by recycling a deserted cement storehouse; "The Big-O," the landmark of this Expo's around which exciting interactive and cultural experiences will take place.

Hoping that Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea will become an opportunity to shed new light on the value of the sea which we have largely forgotten, new stamps are introduced featuring the "Korea Pavilion," the "Theme Pavilion," "The Big-O" and the "Sky-tower."
