| Description | ||||
|
At the end of each year, we are in a mixed feeling of regretfully seeing the old
year ends and hopefully looking forward to the new year coming. We recollect the innocent days of our
childhood when we used to be absorbed in snowballing as a new year coming, the happy days and sad days
of the long-forgotten past in our memory and repentence. Then we suddenly come to aware how the time
flies swift only never to return.
Tracing our memories, we send New Year`s card to our friends and relatives, now living somewhere else, far and near. It is a pleasure for us to send a New Year`s card with kind greetings for a happy new year and it gives a great pleasure for those who receive it, renewing the good old friendship. This year we cannot forget about our youth who are fighting in Vietnam, a faraway land, to help our ally protect their freedom against communists. It would be our duty to extend our love of fellow countrymen by sending New Year`s greeting card wishing a new happy year and success in war. The coming year is called a "sheep`s year" in oriental countries and the Ministry of Communications issues a stamp featuring a sheep that symbolize the new year. The Ministry also issues another stamp featuring a multicolored traditional pouch of luck in a wish that the nation and the people would be blessed with wealth in the coming new year. |
