During the four years of his preceding terms as the 5th President, he has greatly improved the living conditions of the people, laying a groundwork for the modernization of the nation and has carried out his daring and ambitious policies to build up national power and prosperity. Of all his great achievements, the successful implementation of the first five­year economic plan is a thing that we can boast to the whole world. As chief of state, he will lead the nation again during the next four years and he will initiate the second five­year economic plan to realize his political aim of modernizing this country. When the second five­year economic plan is completed, it will not only secure the economic stability but also build a highly industrialized country changing the whole picture of Korea.

It is urged, therefore, that the whole people fulfil each one`s duty in our task of modernizing the nation and bringing the better life for our prosperity.
