| Description | ||||
|
The 48th national athletic meet will be held in Seoul from October 5 through
October 10, with athletic delegates from all provinces and the Korean residents in Japan participating
to compete with their physical strength and skills in the sport games for the honor of the province
they represent.
The start of the national athletic meet was marked by a national baseball game held in 1920, and ever since, it has continued growing over half a century despite of innumerable trials and hardship and has been contributing greatly to the mass promotion of the modern sports games in this country and favor for sports among the people. As a result of continued growth through the national athletic meet, our sports circle has been able to participate and compete in the various world sports games and has produced a good number of world champions, promoting our national pride and glory. The Ministry of Communications issues two stamps in honor of the 48th national athletic meet, in order to further promote sports favor among our people and to help build their physical body and mental mind stronger and healthier. |
