Description
Korea will play host to the 1st international trade fair to be held during the period of 40 days from 9th September 1968 on the fair ground of 200,000 square meters located at Kuro-dong, Yongdeungpo-ku just south of Seoul. Some 35,000 square meters will be under roof providing Korean Government Pavilions, International Pavilions, Korean Products Pavilions, US Atomic Energy Pavilion and other attendant favilities.

293 business organizations from home including those owned by Korean residents in Japan and 102 foreign organizations representing 10 countries (U.S.A., Free China, Federal Republic of Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand) will participate in the Fair with their selected products.

Korean domestic products to be displayed include all kinds of fabrics, sweaters, food, agricultural and marine products, machinery, electrical appratus, building materials, metal goods, transportation equipment, cigarettes and beverages, plastic goods, rubber and leather goods, ceramics, medicines, handicrafts, stationery and sporting goods, musical instruments and miscellaneous articles.

On the other hand the Government will introduce to the visitors from home and abroad the entire field of nation`s economic development through display at the Korean Government Pavilion by 28 domestic industry organizations, including Korea Electric Company.

The Ministry of Communications will issue a commemorative postage stamp to celebrate the international event, the first of its kind ever held in Korea and in the hope that this Trade Fair will serve to promote international trade and increase mutual understanding and solidarity between Korea and her friends abroad.
