The Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea marks The 20th anniversary of its
founding on October 1, 1968. It was commissioned on the very day The Republic declared its
independence in 1948 to defend the nation with a determination to yield not an inch of our soil to the
enemy.
The twenty years of the Korean Armed Forces in a history of combatting the Communists successful containment of the unprovoked North Korean and red Chinese invasion in the three-year Korean War and vigilant defense of our territory against the Communist infiltrators after the cease-fire, and heroic fighting in South Vietnam. After an eventful 20 years, the Korean Armed Forces has emerged as one of the strongest armed forces in the world. It is completely prepared to fight the Communists anytime and anywhere if necessity occurrs. It is determined to ward off any challenge of the North Korea puppet regime which is avowed enemy of the Republic of Korea. The Ministry of Communications will issue a commemorative postage stamp to wish a good luck for the Korean Armed Forces which becomes twenty years old on October 1 on behalf of the whole Koreans. |
