We see victims wandering on the street, lost is every means of life due to storm,
flood, drought and fire: Such is the epidemic of disasters to surround us year in year out. It casts a
great impediment over the nation`s effort, in which we are striving for modernization of this country
in terms of better living standard and social welfare, and so much important and needed is the
fraternal love and sympathy intended to help secure of their livelihood.
While the Government is working to see an earlier enactment of the systematic, preventive social welfare scheme, the popular campaign for disaster relief donation has been moved, instituting the motive of last May as the month of disaster relief. Fortunate enough though, the people of disaster-stricken provinces has shown the dogged resolution in enduring disaster after disaster, it is imperative that the whole nation, private and Government quarter alike, provide aid to those people who are ready to help themselves. In line with this motive and to take part with the national campaign, the disaster relief donation surcharge stamp, 7 Won ordinary stamp surcharged with 3 Won. will be sold on beginnig 1st November. |
