The Ministry of Communications will issue a special stamp on the theme of the
"second economy drive" on May 20, in order to imbue the mind of the people with the spirit of the drive
and to encourage the people to practice it in their life.
The cause of the drive is to rectify irrational and unreasonable factors in our attitude and thinking pattern in the building of economy and nation. The invented words "second economy" refers to the methaphysical aspect of the economic development to distinguish it from the materialistic aspect. At this moment, when the threat of the communist aggression from the north and other trials constantly face us, we are required to carry out the over-riding tasks of building a vigorous and prosperous nation while overcoming the difficulties lying ahead of us with renewed determination and unflagging will. The "second economy drive" means a movement designed to inspire a sense of independence of the nation, a movement to promote a sense of socialities among the people and a movement to have the people to join the economic construction with a vision of promising future and with a new attitude. The Ministry of Communications issues this special stamp, hoping that the people take primary and active part in this campaign and lead the drive to a successful one. |
