| Description | ||||
|
Following its successful achievement of the first five-year economic development
plan, the Korean government is now proceeding with the second Plan. In line with this government
effort, the Ministry of Communications has been issuing two special stamps each year choosing themes
from key programs of the year.
This year the government is concentrating investment in the backward field as of agriculture to raise the standard of farmers` income and to prompt the agricultural development in proposition to the rapid growth in manufacturing industry area under the catch-phrase "Balanced Development between Agriculture and Industry." Another area on which the government is laying particular emphasis is the machinery industry, which plays key role in leading and expediting the industrialization. Owing much to the government`s incentive policy, the various machinery items to be imported from foreign countries are being turned out by domestic industry. The Ministry of Communications will issue two special stamps on the themes of "higher income standard for farmers and development of machinery industry," hoping that the government`s successful performance of the second plan brings about rapid development of rural area and machinery industry. |
