Description
On July 1 this year, the Seventh President of the Republic of Korea will be inaugurated in a solemn ceremony. President Park Chung Hee, who was reelected for a third consecutive term in the presidential election held on April 27 with the strong support from the majority of the entire voters, is empowered to continue to lead the people toward the goal of modernization and reunification of our fatherland.

As the great leader of the republic, President Park will exert himself, as in the past, for implanting into the minds of the people the spirit of self-defense and self-sufficient economy, based on the policy of building defense capabilities on one band, and proceeding with economic construction on the other. Our country has now joined the family of semi-advanced countries of the world, after passing through the stage of underdevelopedness, having achieved brilliant records of accomplishment in political, economic, military and all other fields of life. This is due to the prominent leadership displayed by President Park, along with his burning spirit of patriotism. The successful implementation of the First and Second Five-Year Economic Development Plans also has played vital role in this regard.

In honor of President Park, who is to be installed as the leader of this country for another four years to govern all affairs of state, and in prayers for the continued glory and progress of our fatherland, the Ministry of Communications is hereby issuing a commemorative postage stamp.
