| Description | ||||
|
The triumph of our women's team in the 32nd World Table Tennis Championship held
in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia, from April 5 through April 15, 1973 provides a continuing source of our
national joy and pride. By winning the event, our women table tennis players have significantly enhanced
our national prestige abroad.
In order to commemorate their Sarajevo victory, a nationwide fund-raising campaign is now under way to build a modern gymnsium, which is designed to help our table tennis players further improve their technique and promote ping-pong matches among the people so that the nation may keep up its dominant position in the world's table tennis arena. The Ministry of Communications, hoping that the nation will long remember the brilliant feat of our women champions and the people will actively cooperate with the fund-raising campaign, is issuing this semipostal stamp for the construction of the commemorative gymnasium. |
