| Description | ||||

The Ministry of Communications is issuing these two stamps as the fifth part of a
series featuring Korea's famed sightseeing places.
1. Mt. Mai(Chinan): This rocky mountain, situated about 58km east of Chonju, Cholla Pukto, is nicknamed "Chaungjaebong" because it has two Peaks, one regarded as male and the other female. The 667-meter-high "male" Peak is two meters taller than the "female" Peak. At the foot of the female peak is a temple of pagodas which can be reached after a walk of two kilometers along the valley that divides the twin peaks. The temple has over 120 large and small pagodas. Also in the area is a mountain villa. There is a Buddhist temple called Eunsu-sa near the valley. |
