In accordance with the newly adjusted international communications rates, the
Ministry of Communications issues four kinds of new air mail stamps. For the first time, photogravure
printing facilities are used to print these stamps. Previously, air mail stamps were printed only by an
offset press.
The new air mail stamps carry four different designs, each showing the pertinent postal rate and the map of the mail zone to which applies. No. 1 Zone: The Republic of China, Hong Kong, Macao, Japan; 110 Won. No. 2 Zone: Burma, Khmer, Laos, Malaysia, Vietnam, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand; 135 Won. No. 3 Zone: Asia(excluding the areas listed in Zones No. 1, 2 and 4), Canada, Hawaii, the Continental U.S., Oceania, Alaska, Guam, Midway; 145 Won. No. 4 Zone: Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Near East; 180 Won. |
