The one-won stamp features the mask of an old man and the 30-won stamp depicts a honeybee.
1. The mask of an old man One of the Hahoe masks, this mask of an old man was used in a ritual mask dance perf omed to soothe village gods called Dongshin which were enshrined in Songhwang-dang, Kukshin-dang and Samshin-dang in the Hahoe region - Andong and its vicinity in Kyongsang Pukto. Originally, there were a variety of 12 Hahoe masks all made of wood. But only nine of them exist today. |
