| Description | ||||
|
The Ministry of Communications is issuing these two stamps as the third part of a series designed to
introduce Korea`s traditional musical instruments.
1. A-chaing Similar to Tai-chaing in shape but smaller than it, this instrument has only seven strings. This instrument, however, is played with a bow of bare forsythia wood which is resined. It was used only in Chinese music during the Koryo period. But since the time of King Sungjong of the Yi Dynasty, it has been used mainly in Korean music. |
