| Description | ||||
|
The Ministry of Communications is issuing these two postage stamps as the
third part of a series depicting fruits grown in Korea.
1. Pear: This fleshy pome fruit is borne by a tree two to three meters tall which grows in the temperate zone. The tree has broad and erose leaves. Its white blossoms, seven to eight in each cluster, come into bloom in late April. This generally round-shaped fruit is mostly brownish. Some pears are greenish yellow. Early pears are reaped in the early part of August and late ones in October. |
