Description
The Ministry of Communications is issuing these two postage stamps as the fourth part of a series featuring 10 kinds of fruits grown in Korea.

1. Cherry This fruit grows on a tree known as prunus tomentosa. The tree which has deciduous leaves, mostly oval in shape, is two to three meters tall. Pink or white blossoms bloom in April. The fruit, a smooth-skinned, round-shaped drupe with a long stem, turns deep red when it ripens in June. There are several varieties and they are interbred to produce the fruits.
