Description
June 6 is memorial day on which all our people pay homage to those patriots who sacrificed their lives courageously in the cause of freedom and independence of our fatherland.

It is entirely owing to the sacred blood shed by those heroes, who devoted their lives for the defense of the country, that we could have preserved our sovereignty at the same time achieving remarkable progress and development in the building of a strong and prosperous Korea. All our people should be resolved a new, to defend and protect our fatherland at all cost in times of crisis, following suit of those deceased heroes.

On this memorial day, the government is to hold a memorial service at the National cemetery to console their souls, while the people comfort the bereaved families.

The Ministry of Communications is issuing a commemorative Stamp on this occasion, with a view to consoling the souls of those patriotic heroes; at the same time urging the people to get united firmly in order to forcestall the insidious plot of the North Korean communist regime to start another fratricidal war by invading the South.
