| Description | ||||
| At the dawn of June 25,1950, the North Koreans launched its insidious invasion of the Republic of Korea. The communist invasion of this Republic wrote a disgraceful page in the history of Korea with the horrible fratricidal war.
During the past 22 years of armistice, the communists in the north have constantly committed barbarous acts of provocation against us in a steady attempt to launch another war. Recently, their barbarous acts have become even more rampagous. We, the people in the south, are now armed with firm unity and invincible strength ready to meet any eventuality. At the same time, we hold high the precious friendship we shared with the 16 United Nations' member countries, with whose warriors we shed blood in defense of our country. The 16 blood-tied allies, are the United States of America, Australia, Belgium, Great Britain, Canada, Colombia, Ethiopia, France, Greece, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Thailand, Turkey and the Union of South Africa. It is high time for all of us to get ever more firmly united in a resolute posture to counter whatever provocations may be staged by the Communist aggressors in the north; recalling the sad memory of the Korean War once again. |
