Description
The Ministry of Communications has chosen Sogo(Small Drum) Dance and Bupo Nori as the theme for the fifth of a series of postage stamps introducing Korean folk dances.

1. Sogo
Dancing with a gorgeous peaked hat on his head, the Sogo Dancer performs this farmers' dance in the Chungup, Kimje, Changsong, Kwangju and Pusan areas of the Cholla Provinces and in the Pusan district in Kyongsang-Namdo Province. To the tune of a small drum, the dancers dance joyfully with a peaked hat made of window paper on their heads, making the spectators wonder if they are looking at a flower in its full bloom fluttering in the autumn wind.

2. Bupo Nori
In the performance of this play, leading staffers of farmers' dance proudly rendering their exquisite skills in turn, presenting a perfect harmony of gusto and fun. Bupo Nori, popularly performed in the Honam(Cholla Provinces) district, is different from those played in other areas of the country in that the players display vigor and amorous taste with varied styles and finesse, in addition to the usual skills and fashion demonstrated by the players who dance round gaily in a reeling form.
