| On December 5, 1978, the people of the Republic of Korea will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the proclamation of the National Education Charter which is the basic guideline of our education.
During the past decade, all of us have closely followed the spirit of the carter which encourages us to cultivate a pioneering spirit of creating a new history, promote mutual cooperation and to enhance patriotic spirit based on democracy and anti-Communism. The Education Charter thus has contributed a great deal to the development and growth of our schools and society as a whole. Furthermore, it has played the vital role of the very foundation of the progress achieved in our country, serving the people as a spiritual prop for national regeneration. In observance of the 10th anniversary of declaration of the Education Charter, the Ministry of Communications is issuing a commemorative postage stamp, wishing for continuous development and prosperity of our fatherland as well as sustained embodiment of the sublime ideal envisaged in the charter. |
