| Description | ||||
| September 28, 1980 marks the seventh World Tourism Day.
The United Nations characterized international tourism as "A passport to peace", and also as "An industry recommendable for all countries". In 1973, the World Tourism Organization fixed upon September 28 as "World Tourism Day" and asked for friendly cooperation by all countries in the promotion of world tourism. Every World Tourism Day since 1975, the Ministry of Communications has issued two commemorative stamps depicting the two most well-known scenic sites of each province, in an attempt to direct the attention of people, both at home and abroad, to our country's places to visit. The following two stamps are the last set of this series:
1. Baegma River. 2. The Three Peaks of Dodam. |
