Description
The Ministry of Communications is issuing this year a series of postage stamps featuring Korean made automobiles. The aim of this decision is, on the one hand, to congratulate our auto industry on its rapid growth and, on the other, to diversify the design of our postage stamps to suit the taste of philatelists at home and abroad.

The series will be issued in five installments, featuring small-sized, medium-sized, large-sized and specially-equipped automobiles, in that order. Daewoo's Maepsy and Kia's Titan truck (2.5 tons); Hyndai's cargo truck (11 tons) and Daewoo's dump truck (10.5 tons); and Dong-A's mixer truck and tank lorry will follow in the second, third, fourth and fifth of the series respectively.

The 2nd Stamp Issue involves the passenger Car Maepsy, and the Minibus made by Kia:

1. Passenger Car Maepsy.

A passenger car made by Daewoo, combines elegance and economy. The front of the car, designed aerodynamically in such a way as to get the least resistance of air, guarantees safety when driving it at a high speed.

2. Minibus.
This is a powerful coach made by Kia, equipped with a 70 hp diesel engine. Bongo's maintenance expense, which is only one-third that of a small car despite its passenger capacity which is three times that of the latter, gives the car a high degree of economy.
