| Description | ||||
| President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan of the United States make an official visit to the Republic of Korea, November 12 through 14, 1983, at the invitation of President Chun Doo Hwan.
The United States and Korea first signed a treaty of amity in 1882, and have since remained in most amicable relations, closely cooperating in all fields including politics, security, economy and culture. This visit to Korea, made in the first year of the second century of the friendly relations between the two countries, is the fifth made by a president of the United States, and indicates the solidarity of relations. The summit talks, at which the presidents will exchange their views on matters of mutual interest and concern, are expected not only to confirm but also to result in further strengthening the existing relations between the two countries. The Ministry of Communications issues this commemorative postage stamp as a sign of the hearty welcome our nation extends to our guests, President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan of the United States of America. |
