| The year 1984 marks the hundredth year of Korean postal service.
In commemoration of the occasion, the Ministry of Communications and the Philatelic Fdedration Internationale de Philatel(FIP), will put on a world postage stamp exhibition, PHILAKOREA 84, at the Korea Exhibition Center(KOEX), Seoul, from October 22 through 31, 1984. In addition, the Minstry of Communications is issuing a series of postage stamps under the title of "Korean Postal Service, Yesterday and Today", with thematic materials that show Korean postal service in its historical contexts. The follwing two kinds are the last in the series: 1. Pre-Modern Period Postal Symbol and Post Box. 2. Today's Postal Symbol and Post Box. |
