Description
October 31, 1984 marks the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and lndustry (KCCI).

The KCCI, which represents the Korean business community as an intergrated economic organization, has expanded, since the Han Sung Chamber was established in 1884, into 45 local chambers throughout the nation, including those in Seoul, Busan, Daegu and lnchon.

The KCCI is conducting a wide spectrum of work so as to seek the overall improvement and development of commerce and industry, and to make a contribution to the balanced growth of the national economy.

For the promotion of free international trade and enhancement of world business circumstances, on a non-governmental level, the KCCI is actively cooperating with the lnternational Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which has 105 member countries including those of the communist countries.

Besides, it is playing a pivotal role in promoting international trade through the exchanges of the Protocols of Economic Cooperation with 55 countries and the operation of the bilateral Economic Cooperation Committees with 26 countries.

The Ministry of Communications issues this stamp to commemorate the Centennial of the foundation on the KCCI and also to express our hope that the KCCI will continue to play a leading role in the growth and development of the Korean business community.
