Description
President and Mrs. Mohammad Zia-Ul Haq of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan make a state visit to Korea for five days, May 6 through 10, 1985, at the invitation of President Chun Doo Hwan.

Pakistan with an area of 796, 000sq. km., and a population of 88 milion, who speak Urdu as the official language, is located in South-west Asia. bordering on Iran. Afghanistan and India . The country which is in the dry subtropical climate zone produces a great deal of natural gas, rice and cotton.

Pakistan, pursuing non-alignment as its diplomatic policy, keeps close ties with Islamic countries of the world, especially those of the Middle East. The relations between the country and cultural fields since 1983, when the formal diplomatic relationship was established between the two countries.

During the visit, President Zia-Ul-Haq and President Chun Doo Hwan will have summit talks in which the two presidents are expected to discuss matters of mutual concern and ways of improving bilateral cooperation.

The Ministry of Commnunications issues this commemorative postage stamp as a sign of the hearty welcome our nation extends to President and Mrs Zia-Ul-Haq on this memorable occasion of their state visit to our country.
