| Music is an art of sound, in time, which is slowly formed in the interactions between man and society. The Korean people, who have enjoyed music from anicient times, inheriting and further developing traditional music, have today an innumerable number of songs expressive of folk feelings and love for local places.
The Minstry of Communications intends make our music known more widely at home and aboard by issuing, over the next few years, postage stamps which feature Korean music. The more popular of our folk songs, childern's songs and classcial songs will be selected and postage stamps will be designed according to the themes of the songs and carry their musical scores. The following two stamps are the first of the series: 1.The Spring of My Home (4/4,C Major). 2. A Leaf Boat (6/8 E Major). |
