Description
President and Mrs. Chun Doo Hwan make an official visit to the four European contries, Great Britain, the Federal Republic of Germany, France and Belgium, April 5 to 21, at the invitation of the Prime Ministers of Great Britain and the President of France and the King of Belgium.

During the trip, President Chun will have a series of summit talks with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher of Great Britain, Helmut Kohl of West Germany, President Franois Mitterrand of France, and Prime Minister Wilfried Martens of Belgium, discussing international and regional situations, matters of mutual concern and ways of improving mutual understanding and cooperation.

It is expected that the presidential trip will greatly help our relations with the European counrties, providing a turing point for our relations with the European Community. It is also to be remembered that the four European countries, our relations with most of them being a century old, have supported our positions in international arenas. President Chun's visit is of special significance in this respect.

The Ministry of Communications issues these postage stamps in commemoration of the official visit President Chun makes to the four Eropean countries.
