| Our forefathers, with their outstanding intellect and creative spirit, developed scientific civilization, leaving excellent achievements to us of today. This scientific spirit must be remembered and inherited by us so that we can futher develop our science and technology. For this purpose the Ministry of Communications will issue a series of science postage stamps for the next years.
Since this year happeans to be a year in which the Halley Commet is to appear over the earth 76 years after its last return, the theme of design for these first postage stamps of the series has selected from the field of our astrometeorology. 1. Chomsong-dae, Meterorological Observatory (National Treasure No.31). 2. Kwanchon-dae, Meterological Observatory (Treasure No. 851). |
