| Description | ||||
| President and Mrs. Andre Kolingba, the President of the Central African Republic, make a state visit to our country June 10-13, 1986, at the invitation of President Chun Doo Hwan.
The Central African Republic, situated in the inland of Central Africa, has an area of 622,984 sq. km., and a population of 2.5 million (as of Jan.1983). 60 percent of the population believe in the aboriginal primitive religion, 35 percent in christianity, and the rest in lslam. Agriculture is the main industry of the country, which also exports diamonds, coffee, lumber, and cotton. The country, which won independence from France in 1960, established formal diplomatic relations with our country in 1961. During his stay here, President Kolingba will have summit talks with President Chun, exchanging views on matters of mutual concern. The Ministry of Communications issues this commemorative postage stamp as a token of our hearty welcome. |
