| Description | ||||
| The 10th Asian Games, held in Seoul from September 20 to October 5, were successfully concluded, causing Koreans to have great pride in ourselves. It was as if we witnessed our people's history of development had now turned a sharp curve and advanced into a broad river stretched far into the endless future.
The fact that we, a country with a 40 million population, ended up second only to China, a country with a one-billion population, is to be explained in terms of our national strength. The shouts of excitement that the whole area of Chamshil echoed with, during the Games, were not only the shouts of victory that demonstrated the potential of our people to the whole world, but also a great chorus sung together for world peace by all the people of Asia. The Ministry of Communications issues this postage stamp in commemoration of the 10th Asian Games that have been successfully concluded, letting us find for ourselves, what a mighty kind of strength we as a nation can prodece if united. |
