| The seven days from November 18 to 24, 1986 are Philatelic Week.
By way of promoting philately, the Ministry of Communications had its regional offices hold philatelic exhibitions during last April, and held the exhibition of athletic postage stamps, "SPORTASIANA'86", particpated in by postal adminstrations and individual collectors of Asian countries, during the 10th Asian Games period. On the occasion of this year's Philatelic Week, this postage stamp is issued to help develop our philatelic culture by promoting the healthy hobby of stamp collecting and also to stimulate philatelists to prepare for "OLYMPHILEX'88" which is to be held as one of the culture events staged to promote the 1988 Seoul Olympics. |
