| February 25, 1988 is the Presidential Inauguration Day, when Mr. Roh Tae-Woo is sworn in as the 13th President of the Republic of Korea.
The new President won the direct election of last December 16, 1987, conducted under the new Constitution, amended by common consent among the ruling and opposition parties and the nation as a whole. The Ministry of Communications issues this postage stamp in commemoration of President Roh's inauguration, and the birth of his new government, which is expected to open a new chapter in our democratic advancement and national reconciliation. |
