| This is the year in which the 24th Olympic Games are held in Seoul.
The Seoul Olympics, participated in by the largest number of countries of any Games ever held, both from Eastern Europe including the Soviet Union and from the rest of the world, are surely destined not only to leave us Koreans national honor, but also to become the greatest sports festival in the history of mankind. The Ministry of Communications, starting in 1985, has already issued 24 kinds of Olympic postage stamps, and will issue eight more this year. These stamps, the first of the ones planned for this year, depict yachting and a demonstration event, Taekwondo. |
