| The Federation of Asian and Oceanian Biochemists is a scientific body organized in 1972, in order for the biochemists of the region to cooperate in conducting research and publishing their papers and books, developing new technology of applied biochemistry to help with the national high-technology policies of their individual countries, and promoting exchange of their creative views of the future direction of their field of science.
The Fifth Congress of the Federation, attended by well-known biochemists from all over the world, is held in Seoul, Korea, from August 13 through August 18. The Fifth Congress, which is the first one hosted by Korea, is expected to provide a meaningful occasion and stimulation for the development of the field of life science of Korea, and to help the Korean biochemists play an important role in leading the development of life science and technology of genetics in the Asian and Oceanian region. The Ministry of Communications issues this postage stamp in commemoration of the holding in Korea, The Fifth Congress of the Federation of Asian and Oceanian Biochemists. |
