| Description | ||||
| "World Assembly of YMCAs'" is a general meeting for the YMCA members worldwide, to reconfirm their commitment towards Christianity, and promote and determine its future direction.
The World Assembly is held every 6 years, and this is the first time that the meeting is opened in Korea in the 90-year history of YMCA. Hereby, this makes Korea the second country in Asia to host the meeting. With the theme of "Renewing God's World Together", the World Assembly of YMCAs' will deal with issues regarding relations of people with one another, as well as a relationship between humankind and nature. For instance, poverty and progress, enviroment, urban problems, disabled and refugee problems, and peace education are some of the more specific topics on the Seoul meeting's agenda. In this light, the YMCA meeting is significant for its objective to make this world peaceful and harmonious. The Ministry of Communications issues this postage stamp in commemoration of the "World Assembly of YMCAs'", held in Seoul, in which delegates from 110 countries will participate. |
