| Description | ||||
| The Postage Stamp is a work of synthetic art to show us all of a country from which we can get many knowledges. It was the ex-president of United States of America, Franklin D.Roosevelt who said in his reminiscences, " that we can learn more knowledges from the collection of postage Stamps, than from the school.
The Ministry of Communication has held National Postage Stamp exhibitions since the 1950s , and also many diversifed activities to create an atmosphere for philately. Korea created Philatelic Week in 1973, around the day of November 18, when Korea first issued the Postage Stamp of 1884. During Philatelic Week from November 14 to 20 of this year, many events are scheduled, like a Philatelists' Convention, Philatelic seminars for teenagers, and an autograph session of Postage Stamp designers at the National Postage Stamp exhibition. This exhibition will be very meaningful for us, since Korea will hold the 21st UPU congress in Seoul, and the PHILAKOREA-1994 World Stamp Exhibition in 1994, the 110TH year of the establishment of Korean modern postal service. The Ministry of Communications issues this postages stamp, hoping that it will make possible for our society to become "The fragrent flower garden". |
