| Description | ||||
| The Ministry of Communications has designated the seven days from Nov. 13th to Nov. 19th, 1993 as Philatelic Week. During this period, the Ministry will host the National Stamp Exhibition at Seoul Sejong Cultural Center for promoting philatelic culture, and increasing the population of philatelists.
Today, the postage stamp is not only a means of paying postal charges, but also a synthetic work of art representing a country's political, economical, social, and cultural facets in a condensed form; moreover, it is used as a vehicle for raising peoples awarness, and strengthening friendship between countries. In the hope that all the activities of this Philatelic Week will let more people take an active interest in philately and join the world through stamps, the Ministry of Communications issues Philatelic Week Special Postage Stamp depicting "The Eggplant and the Oriental longheaded locust" by Shin Sa-im-dang. |
