The Ministry of Communications will hold the "PHILKOREA 1994 World Stamp Exhibition" from 16 to 25 of August, 1994, at the Pacific Hall of the Korea Exhibition Center in Seoul, in collaboration with the Philatelic Federation Internationale de Philatelie.

At this exhibition, the Court Honour Class exhibits including the Penny Black and the Pence Blue, the world's first stamps, as well as "The Nile Collection" of Egypt, "The Classic Olympics" of Greece and the Official Class exhibits from postal services worldwide will be on display in the Non-Competitive Classes. In the Competitive Classes, 670 exhibits and over 3,200 frames will be on display.

These exhibits of the Competitive Classes, are divided into twelve classes including the Championship Class, the Traditional Philately Literature Class, the Youth Philately Class and the Philately Literature Class. It is noteworthy that only those works which have received three or more large gold medals in world stamp exhibitions are qualified to compete in the Championship Class. In addition, more than 170 booths will be set up. A wide assortment of stamps will be on sale, and the commemorative cancellation stamps are also available.

In anticipation of a successful exhibition, the Ministry of Communications is issuing three kinds of stamps depicting "Wintry Days" by Kim Chong-hui, "Grape" by Choe Sok-hwan and "A Scenery of Riverside" by Kim Duk-sin, as well as a special souvenir sheet composed of seven setenant stamps featuring "Ten Symbols of Long Life".
