| According to the change of domestic postal rates on September 1, 1997, the Ministry of Information and Communication is issuing four new definitive postage stamps. The first is for 140 won for ordinary postcards, another is for 260won, the basic rate for pieces of nonstandard ordinary mail weighing less than 50g, another is for 1,170 won, the basic rate for registered ordinary mail weighing less than 25g, and the last is for 1,190 won, the basic rate for registered ordinary mail weighing less than 50g.
The definitive stamp for 1,170 won, the basic rate for registered ordinary mail weighing less than 25g, features the Bronze Incense Burner in the Shape of Lotus Flowers, an incense burner with a handle made during the Koryo dynasty(1077 A.D). |
