Ryu Kwon-soon
The Ryu Kwan-sun Memorial Hall on the grounds of the Ewha Girls High School in downtown Seoul was dedicated in 1974 as a memorial to Ryu Kwan-sun, a student of the high school who was imprisoned and tortured by the Japanese police for her active role in the March First Independence Movement, later dying in prison. With a seating capacity of 2,023, the hail is used primarily for concerts and musicals. Jesus Christ Superstar and the Sound of Music are two of the musicals that have been staged here.
